Product Overview
Discover the timeless elegance of Yihong Gongfu (Hubei Black Tea), one of China’s most historic black teas. Sourced from the mountainous regions of Yichang, Hubei Province—near the scenic Three Gorges of the Yangtze River—this tea has been prized since the 19th century and was once a favorite in the tea houses of London.
Crafted with the traditional “Gongfu” (disciplined skill) method, Yihong is celebrated for its deep oxidation and meticulous rolling, resulting in a tea that is robust yet remarkably smooth.

Key Features
  • Historic Heritage: One of the three famous “Gongfu” black teas of China, with a rich history of international trade.
  • Unique Terroir: Grown in the high-altitude, misty mountains of Hubei, where the soil is rich in minerals and the climate is ideal for black tea.
  • Natural Fruity Notes: Characterized by a signature sweet, ripened fruit aroma with subtle honey undertones.
  • Mellow & Balanced: Offers a full-bodied flavor without excessive astringency, making it an excellent all-day tea.
  • Beautiful “Golden Halo”: When brewed, the clear amber-red liquor often displays a golden ring around the cup’s edge, a mark of high essential oil content.

Sensory Experience
  • Aroma: Warm and inviting, featuring notes of dried fruits, malt, and a delicate floral hint.
  • Taste: Thick and smooth on the palate. It has a natural, lingering sweetness that leaves the mouth feeling refreshed.
  • Appearance: The dry leaves are slender, tightly twisted, and dark with occasional golden flecks (tips).

Brewing Instructions
To bring out the best in Yihong Gongfu:
  1. Water Temp: 90°C – 95°C (194°F – 203°F).
  2. Amount: 1.5 – 2 teaspoons (approx. 5g) per 250ml cup.
  3. Steeping Time: 3-5 minutes. (For Gongfu style brewing, use multiple short 15-30 second infusions).
  4. Versatility: Excellent when enjoyed plain to appreciate its complexity, but also holds up beautifully with a dash of milk or honey.
