Product Overview
Known as the “Queen of Black Tea,” Jin Jun Mei is one of the rarest and most prestigious teas in the world. Harvested from the high-altitude peaks of the Wuyi Mountains, this tea is crafted exclusively from delicate spring buds.
It takes approximately 60,000 to 80,000 hand-plucked buds to produce just 500g of this exquisite tea. Unlike traditional Lapsang Souchong, Jin Jun Mei is unsmoked, offering a sophisticated, naturally sweet profile that is prized by connoisseurs globally.
Key Features
- Pure Bud Quality: Only the tiniest, tenderest single buds are selected during the early spring harvest for unparalleled purity.
- Exquisite Craftsmanship: Each bud undergoes an intricate withering, rolling, and fermentation process handled by master tea makers.
- Complex Aroma Profile: Boasts a captivating bouquet of honey, wild floral notes, and a hint of sweet potato and dried fruit.
- Golden Amber Liquor: The tea pours a brilliant, translucent amber with a visible “Golden Ring” (halo) around the edge of the cup—a sign of premium quality.
- Silky Smooth Texture: Exceptionally mellow with zero bitterness, offering a velvety mouthfeel and a long-lasting, sweet aftertaste.
Sensory Experience
- Aroma: A delicate harmony of mountain flower fragrance and rich honey sweetness.
- Taste: Refreshing and elegant. You will notice layers of nectar, cocoa, and mellow fruity undertones.
- Appearance: Slender, tightly curled leaves with a striking mix of gold, yellow, and black colors, resembling delicate eyebrows.
Brewing Instructions
To preserve the tender buds of Jin Jun Mei:
- Water Temp: Use slightly cooler water, around 85°C – 90°C (185°F – 194°F). Avoid boiling water to prevent scalding the delicate buds.
- Amount: 3-5g of tea per 150ml of water.
- Steeping Time: Very quick! The first 3 infusions only need 10-20 seconds. Increase time slightly for subsequent steeps.
- Serving: Best enjoyed “Gongfu style” in a glass or porcelain cup to appreciate the color and aroma.
